What I found interesting in this chapter, is agape love,
which is an unconditional love. Many a times, we tend to label love on the
things we receive from people, especially in a relationship. Love itself, has
to be sacrificial, it involves giving out one self not expecting the same
measure back. Agape love is the greatest
amongst all other kind of love, but sad to say not everyone is walking in the
reality of it. To have a fruitful, healthy and lasting relationship, both
individuals must embrace agape love which is the love God has set for us as
human beings to emulate. God is the founder of agape love, because He loved us
so much that he gave everything to us, even His son Jesus Christ, what else he
can’t give to us. That is love in action. When we love this way, the earth is
going to be like heaven to live forever.
I absolutely agree with you. I think in order for two people to love and grow with each other, they must God in the center of their relationship. Being raised in a fairly religious family, my grandparents had always told me that when I grow up and find someone that I want to spend my life with, I must also seek for God's guidance and whoever my partner is, he too should also find guidance in God. After growing up and being exposed to many things, I did not find myself being as religious as my grandparents but I do believe that God should always lead the way in relationships because we will find guidance in him. So when I find the one to marry, I will make sure we put God first and He will do the rest.
