Week 2 discussion 1

A model of basic communication process which is expanded from a “linear model” of communication views communication as a one way or linear process. This means information is being passed from a speaker to an audience listening without feedbacks or comments. The speaker communicates a lot of information and vital ideas without giving the listener any opportunity to express their understanding of the dialogue. It is a form of an authoritative means of communication. For example, when I was 7 years of age, my dad was more of a linear communicator. Anytime we want to go for a party, I like to wear what I pick, but my dad rebukes me with a loud voice to wear what he wants me to wear without hearing my own opinion. I just look at him and nod my head.
An “Interactive model” of communication is when two people are communicating; it describes each component’s movement and interdependence with other components which are constantly in transmission to each other. This is a method whereby people interact with others to share information and beliefs, exchange ideas and feelings, make plans and solve problems. Sometimes this interaction is done interpersonally, in a team or small group, in a conference and sometimes. An example this situation is, when I was ask to communicate an information to the other staffs where I work, I made sure I asked the necessary question to be sure on what to say, which helped me a lot.

My biography

My name is Emua Onofe. I am a new transfer student to san jose state university. My previous college was chabot college, located in Hayward, California. I am Black African, and english is my first language. I hope to study in the engineering department in SJSU and obtain a degree in Chemical Engineering.
I love soccer. It is a universal sport played by everyone and its a great game to watch. The idea of soccer is to hit the ball between two opponent teams with eleven players on both team.It has different rules from the American football. In soccer, the players are not allowed to touch the ball with their hands except the goalkeeper. The players are allowed to touch the ball with their hands only, if the ball is out of play. And if the players catch the ball with their hands in the field of play, it results to a penalty, whereby the player may be sent off the game. It's awesome.
